What's NOT Covered
Understanding warranty exclusions helps you plan maintenance and care appropriately. The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear: Routine maintenance items like oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug replacements
- Damage from abuse or misuse: Improper operation, neglect, or failure to follow maintenance schedules
- Improper installation: Issues caused by installation that doesn't follow Generac specifications
- Acts of nature damage: Cosmetic damage from rust, corrosion, UV damage, or environmental exposure (though the corrosion-resistant aluminum enclosure minimizes this)
- Lack of maintenance: Damage resulting from failure to perform required maintenance (annual service, oil changes, etc.)
- Cosmetic damage: Surface rust, paint chips, or appearance issues (functional components are covered)
- Third-party modifications: Alterations or modifications made by parties other than Generac-authorized dealers
Transfer Switch & Battery Warranty
| Component | Warranty | Notes |
| Transfer Switch (ATS) | 5-Year Limited | Covered under main generator warranty |
| Battery (12V/24V) | Typically 1 Year | Battery may degrade faster in Florida heat; recommend replacement every 2-3 years for optimal performance |
| Mobile Link WiFi | Included (No Extra Cost) | Lifetime connectivity for monitoring and alerts (cellular/internet connection required) |
Battery Replacement Considerations
The standard battery warranty is 1 year, but Florida's heat degrades batteries faster than northern climates. We recommend battery replacement every 2–3 years to ensure reliable cold-start performance. A failed battery during a blackout could prevent your generator from starting automatically, so proactive replacement is smart preventive maintenance.
Our maintenance plan includes battery voltage checks at every service visit and covers replacement costs if you're on the plan.

Why Warranty Protection Matters
A generator is a major investment — typically $8,000–$15,000+ including installation. The 5-year warranty ensures that if any component fails during normal use, you're protected. In Southwest Florida's demanding climate with salt air, humidity, and extended hurricane season, having coverage for mechanical failures, labor, and service calls gives you complete peace of mind.
The warranty means you don't have to worry about an expensive repair bill if something goes wrong. It's all covered. And with the current FREE 7-year extended warranty promotion, you're getting even more protection at no additional cost.
